This Privacy Policy describes how The Chef's Twist ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use KIM — Kitchen Intelligence Manager — and when you connect KIM to your Square account. We are committed to protecting your data and operating with full transparency about what we access and why.
The Chef's Twist is a Las Vegas-based culinary operations company. KIM is a visual AI diagnostic platform for commercial and institutional food-service environments. KIM analyzes kitchen and bar environments using photographic inputs and generates structured operational assessments covering compliance, inventory, workflow, and cost exposure.

We collect two categories of information:
KIM offers optional integrations with Square and Clover point-of-sale systems. Both integrations operate on the same principle: read-only access only. KIM cannot and does not write to, modify, or delete any data in your POS account. This is enforced at the API level by both Square and Clover.
Square
When you connect your Square account, KIM requests read-only access to:
Business name, country, and account information. Used to identify and associate your account with your KIM profile.
Your product catalog including item names, categories, and pricing. Used to cross-reference inventory and operational assessments.
Current inventory counts and changes. Used to support KIM's inventory management and PAR-level analysis.
Staff and team member count data. Accessed as part of the operational environment assessment.
We do not access your Square payment processing data, customer data, financial transactions, or bank account information.
Clover
When you connect your Clover account, KIM requests read-only access to:
Business name and account information. Used to identify and associate your account with your KIM profile.
Product catalog and current inventory data. Used to cross-reference inventory and support operational assessments.
Order data used to support operational throughput and workflow assessments.
Staff and team member count data. Accessed as part of the operational environment assessment.
We do not access your Clover payment processing data, customer data, financial transactions, or bank account information.
Both integrations are optional. KIM functions without a connected POS account. You may disconnect either integration at any time through your KIM portal or directly through your Square or Clover account settings.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
Your data is stored on a self-hosted server infrastructure operated by The Chef's Twist. OAuth tokens from Square and Clover integrations are stored securely on our servers and are never transmitted through unsecured channels.
Access tokens are stored with expiration tracking and are refreshed automatically. We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your data from unauthorized access.
Scan photos submitted for analysis are processed and retained as part of your scan record. We do not sell or share your scan data with third parties.
We retain your account data and scan records for as long as your KIM account is active. If you disconnect a POS integration, we stop syncing data from that account. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your data within 30 days.
You can disconnect your Square account from KIM at any time through your KIM portal. When you disconnect, KIM immediately loses access to your Square data and will not perform any further syncs. Previously synced data may be retained as part of existing scan records.
You can also revoke KIM's access directly from your Square account under Apps & Integrations at any time.
KIM currently integrates with the following third-party services:
KIM may integrate with additional third-party services in the future. When new integrations are added, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect the data accessed and how it is used.
Each of these services operates under their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them for the services you use.
